It’s almost the Holiday Season! Looking for a gift to show someone how special they are? Putting thought into their gift goes a long way, and will make sure it brings a smile to their face. If they like to crochet, knit, or are just crafty, these are some great gift ideas sure to be a hit! Check out these 6 Christmas gift ideas.
#1. Crochet hook set
Do they love crochet, but only has a couple crochet hook sizes? If so, this might be a perfect idea for them!
If you’re not a crocheter, you might not know this – but there are around 20 different hook sizes! Why you ask? It all depends on the weight of the yarn and the ‘look’ the crocheter is trying to achieve. Crochet hooks are definitely not a “one size fits all”.
Personally I prefer the ergonomic hooks. They provide extra cushion for your fingers and you don’t have to worry about sweaty hands if you’re crocheting for a while! They’re a couple dollars more expensive than the aluminum hooks, but are worth it if you ask me!
Not sure? Sneak a peak at her current hooks and see what they use today.
Recommendations:
Boye Ergonomic Crochet Hook Set (12 hooks)
Loops & Threads Anodized Aluminum Crochet Hooks (8 hooks)
#2. Yarn! Crocheters always need more yarn!
If you’re a human, you eat food, drink water, and breath air. It’s what we do.
If you’re a crocheter (or knitter), you’re always looking for new yarn to add to your stash. It’s what we do.
Trust me on this. Yes, we may have a drawer full of yarn, but believe me when I tell you, every single ball of yarn is so different!
So perhaps they need another ball of yarn to finish a blanket they’ve started. Or maybe they’ve had her eye on a yarn that they really wants, but hasn’t bought yet because it’s a bit of a splurge. On the other hand, they might enjoy something totally new. What do I mean by that? If they always uses solid yarn, try out a self striping yarn (a yarn that changes colors within the ball/skein). If they always uses dark or muted colors, buy a yarn that features bright colors.
Now, there are many choices of yarn, so I’ll narrow it down to my top picks:
1. Lion Brand Yarn – Mandala, 24/7 Cotton, Vel-luxe, and Color Made Easy are great! I am personally a big fan of Lion Brand!
2. Paintbox Yarns – Simply Aran and Cotton DK are great to use!
3. Scheepjes Whirl or Scheepjes Catona yarn
4. Loops and Threads, Impeccable yarn
5. Red Heart Stripes or Red Heart With Love
7. Bernat Maker or Bernat Baby Blanket yarn
#3. Adult coloring books
This fad started a couple years ago, and it’s such a great idea! Who said we have to stop coloring after we grow up?!
Stress Relieving Animal Designs
And don’t forget the colored pencils!
*Warning: this next one is only for those who have a healthy sense of humor and don’t mind some ‘colorful language.’ If you dare: Calm the ** down, An Irreverant Adult Coloring Book.
#4. Cricut Machine

The Cricut is a die-cutting machine that allows you to make some pretty crazy crafts! It cuts anything from paper, to fabric, to iron on vinyl. Think: paper crafts, mugs with fun designs, personalized t-shirts. This one comes as a bundle so you can get started right away!
Shop CricutI have used my Cricut to make signs for my kids parties, birthday cards every year, and a fancy rocket ship wall decoration for my son!
A couple of my friends who are teachers have the Cricut and love this, since they can make cute decorations for their classroom and go crazy with their bulletin boards!

You can gift a Craftsy (Bluprint) class HERE. Chose your plan and boom – they’ll be off and learning in no time!
#6. Even crafters need a caffeine boost!
Ok, Ok. Now this isn’t totally related to crafting, but many of us like to sit down to do our crafting with a warm mug of coffee (or tea). Not to mention, this could be a gift that you can enjoy as well! So this one isn’t for crafters only, but for coffee-lovers in general.
I have this Nespresso machine downstairs in my kitchen and LOVE it. Coffee + crafting is the perfect recipe for a peaceful afternoon!
I hope this gives you some great ideas to help celebrate this special person in your life.
Have fun and happy crocheting,
Jennifer
