Disney Color Palettes. When you’re looking for color inspiration that evokes a feeling of happiness and playfulness, is there anything more fitting than Disney?!
Spoiler alert: I am a HUGE Disney fan. I may look like an adult, but I’m a kid at heart.
When I started crocheting back in 2018, I knew from the very beginning I wanted to somehow incorporate my love for Disney into this amazing new craft I learned. Since Disney copyrights their characters and whatnot, I struggled with a bit with how I could incorporate Disney without breaking the law 🙂
So recently, my lightbulb moment came – I can create crochet any project I want, but just use colors that our brains subconsciously link to one of the characters. Its a perfect way to sneak a little Disney magic into our crochet projects!
This color palette guide is intended to be useful resource for crocheters and knitters, since this includes the brand name and colorway of the yarns pictured, however I am hoping that anyone can use these overall. Whether you’re planning a themed party, redecorating a room, picking out an outfit for your next Disney trip, drawing/painting – keep these colors and mind and you’ll happily feel like you’re strolling down Main Street with Mickey Ears on your head and a Dole Whip in your hand. 🙂
Fun fact: If you DO happen to be strolling down Main Street with your cute lil Mickey Ears on, pushing your kid’s stroller, and you walk past those bobbing Disney balloons. I highly encourage you to consider the current wind speed. Take it from someone who learned the hard way, that walking through crowds with 2 big balloons on a very windy day is quite the experience…You’re welcome.

Okay, back to colors.
Does color vary based on yarn fiber?
Yes, it can.
Before we dive into it, please note that not only the brand of yarn is provided but also the type or content (e.g. cotton, acrylic).
This is because the colors can look a bit different depending on the yarn fiber (cotton vs acrylic). As you can see, “Light Caramel” in Paintbox Simply DK (100% acrylic) looks a little darker than the same color in Paintbox Cotton DK (100% cotton).
This might not always be the case, but please keep this in mind.
Ok, lets jump to the color palettes!
Frozen
Anna and Elsa (along with Olaf and Sven of course) have melted our hearts these last couple years. These movies teach great lessons, but also boasted some of the best Disney songs in years.
Worried you won’t find the right colors fit for this queen and princess? Let it go, I have you covered.
Oh cmon, did you think I wasn’t going to somehow work a “let it go” into this?!

Any suggestions for a pattern of colors to crochet a blanket for castle colors?
Hi, yes! Have a look at the section above called “Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World”. Hope that helps!
Love all your suggestions. They’ve saved me so much time and money wandering the yarn aisles. Any suggestion yarn/colors for Buzz Lightyear?
